Biography

Dr. Cavanagh studies action-nets, practice theory and organizational learning, information organizations, information relationships and interactions. Her work currently addresses these themes: public information libraries and online engagement with everyday citizens; and the information practices of consumers in Canada’s rights-based telecommunications marketplace. She is currently conducting a case study of the Saskatchewan public library network’s successful online advocacy campaign and political action. Dr. Cavanagh has deep practical knowledge of Canada’s academic and public library sectors developed over many years in the field and as a researcher.
