Special Summer Courses
All professional program (non-thesis) students are allowed and strongly encouraged to register to one of these two course codes:
ELG students: ELG5301 Professional Development Workshops (3 Units)All other students: GNG5301 Professional Development Workshops (3 Units)
Starting in Fall, ELG 5301 is a required course for all ELG professional program students.
Starting in Fall, GNG 5301 is a pre-requisite for anyone wanting to do GNG 5902 Industry Internship Project.
The course develops professional skills related to your discipline and future career, as well as connecting you with industry contacts and potential projects and internships.
Cloud Systems Specialist Certificate (in collaboration with www.cengn.ca)
We are considering offering this as a 3 unit course for the summer covering Container Orchestration with Docker and Kubernetics, Cloud Computing using OpenStack, Network Functions Virtualization and Distributed Computing / Big Data Platforms (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, and Storm). Students could also use the course as a starting point for doing a related ELG or GNG 5902 Industry Internship project.
